We all know of Grammy-award-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion and her slew of hits over the past year or so. What if we were to tell you a hardcore cover of her single "Crybaby" existed? Well, we have Pure Noise's UnityTX and Ericka Kent from Mad Collective's This Is Your GOD to thank for that.

The original track "Crybaby" features rapper DaBaby who sets up the rhythm before handing it off to Megan. In this cover, frontman Jay Webster of UnityTX performs DaBaby's verses as Ericka Kent from This Is Your GOD does Megan's. They sample the backing track of the original rap beat before kicking into full gear with layers of heavy metal guitar progressions. The drums strategically take turns with the digital background bass as they crash through simultaneously with the guitars signaling the brief breakdowns. Webster's screaming vocals in this style emulates aspects of Fever 333 while still making it his own.

Just as the rap flow switches up, so do the guitar aggressive progressions as Kent or "Breakdown Mami" is introduced. Kent's verse is introduced as a familiar Rico Nasty-sound but leads into her own unique style of hardcore-rapping emphasized with backing screaming vocals. The escalation of drum kicks and cymbals round out the intensity during the final verse before fading out into the initial beat alongside whimsical commentary.

Needless to say, they did Thee Damn Thing. Make sure you're following UnityTX & This Is Your GOD to stay up-to-date with their latest projects (& hopefully future tour plans as we progress forward.) See below.
