Single Review: I Met A Yeti (ft. Pulses.) - "Opulence"

i met a yeti post hardcore pulses. single review

There's an influx of new music being released right now & it can be overwhelming to keep up. Let us help you out & guide you to some quality new music and potentially (to you) new artists. Florida's post-hardcore group, I Met A Yeti, joined forces with their friends in Pulses. in their latest single "Opulence." This heart-palpating track highlights their dynamic wonderfully as I Met A Yeti transition into this new era with an EP on the rise.
The band's masterful guitar riffs intertwine with waves of screaming pleas for a personal resolution. I Met A Yeti drew inspiration from a quote spoken by internet commentator, ContraPoints: “It's not that I'm ashamed of what I did, it's not that I'm ashamed of how I feel, it's that I'm ashamed of who and what I am.” Their main goal of the track "Opulence" was to "personify this sensation of pure distilled shame."
About halfway through, a bass-driven breakdown introduces Pulses. to the anthem before leading us into a blend of layered vocals and haunting screams. As the crescendo recedes, bits of previous vocals are chopped up & composed into a catchy electronic outro. The group claims that "Opulence" set the foundation for their next project. Since it's already an amalgamation of their signature sound, contemporary twists & dark themes.
It's yet to be revealed when their EP will be released, but that gives you more of a reason to follow along to see when it'll be. Also, if you missed our review on Pulses.'s track from February, here you go.
