Single Review: Sparing - "Lush"

pop punk single review sparing

North Carolina natives, Sparing, are starting to make waves in the pop punk revival era & you're gonna want to hop along! The group's members decided to branch out from their former hardcore band Thirteenth, to transition into a more nostalgic-Y2K-alt-rock tonality through the new identity of Sparing. This new chapter kicks off with the band releasing their debut EP at the end of this month, July 30th, featuring their latest single: "Lush."
Although, there are a few tracks released back in 2019 as the vocalist's solo project, Sparing truly initiated once they banded together to create this next piece of work, including the following single. "Lush" is a catchy, tumultuous track bound to gain audience anticipation for more. Particularly after the first chorus, you'll be hooked & singing along yourself. Their integration of harmonies, crashing cymbals & electrifying guitar riffs create that essence of a Warped Tour-like nostalgia listeners often crave.
"Lush" will be featured on Sparing's upcoming EP, Old Dreams, July 30th on Sunday Drive Records. Make sure you go show some love to this rising alternative group, especially if you're local to the Raleigh, North Carolina area.
