Single Review: You Me At Six - "Adrenaline"

single review you me at six

English rock band, You Me At Six, plan to drop their 7th studio album SUCKAPUNCH next Friday, the 15th. On the first day of 2021, they released new single "Adrenaline" alongside the 3 other singles (released previously) all from the impending full length to ignite excitement for this new chapter.

Leading up to the new year, You Me At Six began strategically dropping new singles, "MAKEMEFEELALIVE," "Beautiful Way," and "SUCKAPUNCH" to introduce fans to this new era of dark pop rock. The group has managed to evolve with each record while still maintaining a solid fanbase ever since their first launch into the scene around 2009. So needless to say, the response to these tracks definitely fueled fan's adrenaline for what's to come.

The single, "Adrenaline," in particular is a track that you immediately crave to see live (whenever that's a thing again.) It's eery slow-build in the beginning with the heartbeat percussion following the steps into the chorus are goosebump inducing. Heavy guitar strikes orchestrate the anthemic rock chorus with layered vocals mimicking an ensemble to match the pitch of the guitars. "It's kicking in adrenaline / Adrenaline is kicking in," and the catchy chorus does just that

Make sure you're following You Me At Six to stay up to date with their new ventures. They originally had planned a few small & safe performances across the UK, but obviously had to be canceled due to recent events. It sounds like plans to do something similar are still up in the air for when it's fully safe, so stay tuned.
