Single Review: Softcult - "House of Mirrors"

90's-Y2K revitalization has become somewhat of a trend in the past few years considering most of its consumers have lived during that time & crave that blithe nostalgia. Music, such as Canadian duo Softcult, allow us to reflect back on that era while still being able to appreciate modern-day influences. Their debut EP, Year Of The Rat, was released back in April and another single, "Spit It Out," during the summer-- just enough to entice new listeners. Single Review: 5ever - "Champagne"

North Carolina natives, Sparing, are starting to make waves in the pop punk revival era & you're gonna want to hop along! The group's members decided to branch out from their former hardcore band Thirteenth, to transition into a more nostalgic-Y2K-alt-rock tonality through the new identity of Sparing. This new chapter kicks off with the band releasing their debut EP at the end of this month, July 30th, featuring their latest single: "Lush." Although, there are a few tracks released back in 2019 as the vocalist's solo project, Sparing truly initiated once they banded together to create this next piece of work, including the following single. "Lush" is a catchy, tumultuous track...

Single Review: Gully Boys - "Russian Doll"

They've been kickin' ass & takin' names for a few years now and it seems to be only going up from there. They've newly signed to Get Better Records, who also represents the group we talked about a few weeks ago, VIAL. And boy did Gully Boys bring the heat this summer with their latest single, "Russian Doll," kicking off this hot new era. Photo by Juliet Farmer I remember listening to their track "Neopet Graveyard," a few years ago, from their Freshman LP, Not so...
