Inventor of Rock'N'Roll: Sister Rosetta Tharpe

Inventor of Rock'N'Roll: Sister Rosetta Tharpe

It's been difficult trying to find words to say during this time. Often, I get overwhelmed with the news but at the same time feel guilty for not consuming enough news. Regardless, I (as a white woman) have taken it upon myself to learn more about black history & significant black figures who have been erased from our white-washed history books. However, history was my least favorite subject next to math in high school, so I will refrain from making this an actual history lesson. (I will leave resources below if you do want a history lesson.) Instead, I just wanted to showcase...

Rich People: New Singles

Rich People: New Singles

We've had Rich People's sophomore record Grace Session on repeat for a while now, so new material from this Philadelphia-based band is something we can finally start crossing off of our wishlist. It all started with the teaser of playing one unreleased [at the time] single, "No Age," during their tour with Grayscale late last year. Soon enough, fans were given the studio version of the track only heightening the anticipation of what to expect from the impending full length. Meet Me @ The Altar: New Singles

This track begins with vocalist, Edith Johnson, yelling "I'm doing my best!" as...

Album Review: GLUE - Boston Manor

The alternative rock group, Boston Manor, released their third studio record on May 1st titled GLUE. These English boys have accumulated a very passionate fanbase with each era of album releases and GLUE seems to be no different.  This record pushes the boundaries while still remaining to sound like the authentic Boston Manor that fans adore. "Everything Is Ordinary" is the first track and was also the first single to introduce the impending full length. This song showed an experimental side of the band that most fans were not anticipating. Despite being caught off guard by the distorted vocals & new sound, their audience grew to appreciate their versatility...
